Some frequently asked questions regarding our service to our clients.

1. Do we have to pay overtime past midnight?


Unlike most agencies, we do not charge overtime for staff working past midnight. The only exception to this is for our Elite corporate hostesses who will be charged out at 1.5 times their hourly rate after 11.30pm.


 
2. Do we have to book cabs for staff working late or who start early in the morning?


Taxis will be charged to the client if an event starts before 06:30 for Esprit and Esprit Tech staff, or 07:00 for Elite Corporate Hosts and Hostesses, from Monday to Saturday and before 07:30 on Sunday & Bank Holidays. Taxis will also be charged to the client if staff finish after 23:30. You are welcome to organise cabs yourself if you have a preferred supplier. If not, we can organise them for you.



 
3. Do we incur a charge for late cancellations?


Please refer to your client terms and conditions.


 
4. Are we able to feed back after an event?


After each event, a member of the Esprit office team will call you and ask for feedback on staff at your event. This will be logged on our system.


 
5. Do we have to book staff for a minimum number of hours?


The minimum booking for Esprit and Esprit Tech is 4 hours. The minimum booking for Esprit Elite is 5 hours.


 
6. Are your staff insured?


The client is responsible for the supervision of the event site in respect of Health and Safety issues. You are solely responsible for the health and safety of our personnel while they are providing the services to the same extent as if our personnel were your employees. For the avoidance of doubt this will include travelling to and from the event which has been arranged by you or us prior to the event in accordance with your instructions. You will maintain adequate insurance cover to underwrite your obligation to our personnel.


 
7. Do we have to pay a deposit?


On bookings of over 5 consecutive days, we may ask clients to pay a deposit of 50% of the total booking price.


 
8. Do we have to pay travel time?


For travel outside zone 6, Esprit Personnel are paid travel one way. For example, pay is calculated from the appointed place and time of departure until the finish time at the actual event. However, in the event that travel time is more than 2 hours each way, an hourly rate will be charged for travel both ways.


 
9. Are staff entitled to breaks?


Workers have the right to a break of 20 minutes if required to work continuously for more than six hours. The break should be taken during the six hour period and not at the beginning or end of it.


 
10. Do we have to provide staff with food and refreshments?


It is a legal requirement to make sure staff have access to water and most clients provide food for staff on shifts of over 4 hours.
